Vegetarian Recipes
Royal
Dal Soup
Serves
four
Ingredients:
1
package Eastern Essence® Royal Dal Regular
or Spicy
1 large onion, chopped
1-2 tablespoons butter or ghee
1 vegetable bullion cube
3 cups water
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons lemon juice
½ teaspoon salt
¼ - ½ cup chopped cilantro
1 large tomato, diced
Directions:
In
2-3 quart pot, sautee onion in butter or
ghee until golden brown. Add 3 cups water,
vegetable bullion cube, and 1 package Eastern
Essence® Royal Dal Regular or Spicy.
Simmer partially covered for 25 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Remove from heat
and allow to cool. Place mixture in blender
with heavy whipping cream. Blend for a few
minutes until smooth. Remove from blender,
place back in pot and heat until warm. Add
lemon juice and salt and stir. Garnish with
chopped tomato and cilantro. Serve and enjoy!
Dal
and Rice Delight
Serves
three-four as a complete meal.
Ingredients:
1
package Eastern Essence® Royal Dal Mild
or Spicy
1 package Eastern Essence® Pulao, Biryani
or Khichdi
1 medium size onion, coarsely diced
1 ½ cups water
1 tomato, diced
2 tablespoons butter or ghee
Juice from ½ lemon
¼ - ½ bunch chopped cilantro
Directions:
Sautee
onion in at least two tablespoons of butter
or ghee on medium or medium-high until golden
brown. Add Eastern Essence® Royal Dal
Mild or Spicy to onions and stir. Add 1
½ cups water and tomato. Simmer and
stir on medium heat for approximately 15
minutes (or until the Royal Dal thickens).
In another pot, cook Eastern Essenceâ
Pulao, Biryani or Khichdi according to directions
on the box. Once Royal Dal thickens, add
butter or ghee and lemon juice. Stir and
pour over Eastern Essenceâ Pulao,
Biryani or Khichdi. Sprinkle cilantro on
top, serve and enjoy!
